
Green and clean elections will be held in Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency: General Observer Dr Hira Lal
Nawanshahr - Regarding Lok Sabha Elections-2024, green and clean elections are being conducted in Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency and voters are being encouraged to plant saplings along with voting. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa and SDM Balachore Ravinder Bansal were also with him on this occasion. On this occasion, he administered an oath to the officers and students present about one vote-one tree. General Observer Dr Hira Lal and District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa also planted saplings on this occasion.
General Observer Dr. Hira Lal while addressing said that along with persuading the common voters to vote on June 1, an appeal is also being made to plant one tree each, which has been well appreciated by all sections. He said that every voter should exercise his right to vote and strengthen this democracy and also protect his environment by planting one tree at a time. He said that even one sapling planted by us will strengthen the concept of green election. He said that efforts are being made to increase the voting percentage during the elections.
Speaking on this occasion, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that transparent, peaceful and green elections will be conducted in the district. He said that efforts are being made to convert the slogan given by the Election Commission of holding green elections into reality on the ground. Voters are being sensitized through various activities to vote under sweep and plant saplings under green election. To reduce carbon emissions during the selection process, minimum use of plastic is being ensured at the departure, return and counting centers of the training teams. On the day of polling, besides arranging the necessary facilities for the voters at the polling booths, separate plantations are also being arranged so that the voters coming to vote can take the plantations from the polling booths to their homes and these plantations in their homes and planting in fields
Paintings and rangolis were created by the students with the aim of making voters aware of the importance of voting and planting trees, which were appreciated by Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa and General Observers. General Observer Dr Hira Lal and District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa cut a cake and shared it with the students on the theme of One Vote-One Tree.
