
Expenditure Observer holds meeting with political candidates and officials in Bangana
Una, 21 May- IRS officer Meenu Singh Bisht, the expenditure observer appointed by the Election Commission of India for Gagret and Kutlehar assembly by-elections of Una district, held a meeting with administrative officials and political parties in Bangana on Tuesday. During this, he gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding monitoring of election expenditure.
Una, 21 May- IRS officer Meenu Singh Bisht, the expenditure observer appointed by the Election Commission of India for Gagret and Kutlehar assembly by-elections of Una district, held a meeting with administrative officials and political parties in Bangana on Tuesday. During this, he gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding monitoring of election expenditure. He asked everyone to ensure complete compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission. Election Officer SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal and members of the parties formed for expenditure monitoring were present in the meeting.
Expenditure monitoring team should work with full alertness
Meenu Visht asked all the officials to discharge their responsibilities seriously to conduct fair elections. He said it would be mandatory to submit complete details of expenditure by any party or independent candidate in the cash register. The expenses of any party or independent candidate will be as per the conditions and limits of the Election Commission. The election expenses will be from the registered account only and not from any other account. Cash register day to day register and bank register have to be updated every day. Expenditure Supervisor Meenu Singh Bisht said that all the candidates should ensure to mention the election expenses in the expenditure register. He said that no candidate can spend more than Rs 40 lakh for the assembly elections.
At the same time, Sonu Goyal said that under the Kutlahar Assembly by-election, surveillance teams have been deployed in various areas and during this time vehicles are also being checked so that the Model Code of Conduct can be followed as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. He said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, during the election process, correct estimation of campaign expenses by political parties and candidates is being ensured and it is being reflected in the shadow register.
