
Workshop organized for rehearsal of counting personnel
Una, 20 May- A one-day election rehearsal workshop was organized at Lata Mangeshkar Art Center, Samurkalan on Monday for the counting personnel posted in Una district for the Lok Sabha general election and assembly by-election. During this, he was given detailed information about conducting the vote counting process in a smooth and transparent manner.

During this, he was given detailed information about conducting the vote counting process in a smooth and transparent manner. In the rehearsal, along with providing detailed information related to EVM vote counting to the personnel deployed for counting of votes, necessary information regarding counting of postal ballots was also provided.
In the workshop, SDM Haroli Rajiv Thakur gave detailed procedural information regarding counting of postal ballots. He said that there will be two types of postal ballot papers, one for the category of personnel on election duty and the other for service voters. Counting of postal ballots cast for Lok Sabha will be done at the level of Returning Officer in Hamirpur, while counting of postal ballots related to Gagret and Kutlahar Assembly by-elections will be done at the respective counting center set up in Degree College, Una.
During this, Naib Tehsildar Election Ajay Sharma informed about the process and procedure related to counting of votes and declaration of election results. Along with giving information about the legal provisions related to vote counting, basic requirements in the counting center and rules related to entry there, he also explained in detail about counting, matching and sealing of EVMs and VVPATs.
Let us tell you, the next rehearsal workshop for counting personnel in Una district will be organized on June 3 at Degree College, Una. For counting of votes in Una district, counting centers have been set up at Degree College, Una. Voting will be held on June 1st for the Lok Sabha general elections and 2 assembly by-elections in the district. Counting of votes will start from 8 am on June 4.
SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal, SDM Gagret Saumil Gautam, SDM Amb Vivek Mahajan, Election Department officials, micro observers deployed for counting of votes and all the officers and employees associated with counting duties were present in the workshop.
