Excise Department Intensifies Inspections, Confiscates 792 Bottles of IMFL Worth Rs 1.98 Crore

Continuing the series of rigorous inspections at various Licensing Units and wholesale godowns allotted for the Excise Policy year 2024-25, a team of officers from the Excise Department conducted an inspection at a wholesale licensee's premises. During this operation, the enforcement team confiscated a total of 792 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) valued approximately at Rs 1.98 crore.

Sh. Rupesh Kumar, IAS, the Excise and Taxation Commissioner, emphasized the department's commitment to maintaining strict surveillance and enforcing compliance with the Excise Policy and the Excise Act of 1914, along with the rules framed thereunder. He stated, "There will be a strict vigil by the Department, and no one found deviating from the Excise Policy and the Excise Act will be spared."
