
Punjab Home Guard volunteer caught by Vigilance taking bribe of ten thousand rupees
Patiala/Chandigarh, May 15 - The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has caught Balwinder Singh, a volunteer of the Punjab Home Guards (PHG) posted at Special Branch Patiala red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 during the ongoing campaign against corruption in the state. Giving information in this regard, the official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the above home guard has been arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Rajiv Chaudhary, a resident of Rajpura city, Patiala district.

Giving information in this regard, the official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the above home guard has been arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Rajiv Chaudhary, a resident of Rajpura city, Patiala district.
He further said that the above complainant has contacted the Vigilance Bureau and told that he has bought a Renault Kwid car from a dealer but he is not providing the documents of the car like RC, insurance etc. due to which he has lodged a police complaint against the dealer. filed which marked Hauldar Jagroop Singh and PHG Balwinder Singh for action but they were asking for a bribe of Rs 10,000 in return for taking action on his complaint.
The spokesperson said that after the initial investigation of this complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap in which the above accused PHG Balwinder Singh was caught red-handed while accepting bribe from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.
