Mandi Gobindgarh, May 13 – Faculty of Nursing, Desh Bhagat University celebrated International Nurses Day today, recognizing the immense contribution of nurses globally. The event was attended by eminent personalities of the university and the nursing community including the Chief Guest Gurdayal Singh Buttar, President, Nursing Training Institute Association of Punjab.
Gurdayal Singh Buttar told the students present that the field of nursing is full of placement opportunities and also has a bright career future. He emphasized the great service of humanity through nursing. Her address highlighted the important role of nurses in healthcare and the need for continuous support and recognition for their dedication and hard work. On this occasion, DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, President Dr. Sandeep Singh, Vice Chancellor Prof. Abhijit Joshi, Vice President of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Harsh Sadavarti and other dignitaries participated in the program. Inspirational speeches by Jasmin Kaur, Nursing Tutor, University College of Nursing, Faridkot and Neetu Thakur, Professor, Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana created an inspiring atmosphere. Acknowledging the significance of this year's International Nurses Day, the theme of the event was highlighted by Professor Lavasampuranjot Kaur.
The program included a variety of cultural and educational activities including Shabad Kirtan by Boota Singh and a mesmerizing performance by BSc 3rd semester students. Eminent personalities from the nursing community were also felicitated at the event, including Prof. Murari Lal, Principal, Murari Lal Memorial School and College of Nursing, Solan. Raghunandan Singh; Professor Deepak Shandilya, Principal of Abhilashi College of Nursing Dr. Neetu Thakur, Professor of Mohan Dai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana; Kushanpreet Kaur, Harmeet Kaur and Jasmine Kaur from BFUHS Faridkot; Principal Prof. Yashpreet Kaur from Chief Khalsa Dewan International Nursing College, Amritsar, Prof. Manpreet Kaur from SPHE College of Nursing, Mohali; Nursing Superintendent Charanjit Kaur and Daljit Kaur were also honored for their outstanding contribution.
