Patiala, May 13 – Patiala Police has claimed to have arrested Lawrence Bishnoi and Nav Lahoria gang close associate Rohit Kumar alias Cheeku along with a country pistol .32 bore, a country cut and 12 live cartridges. Sharing this information with the media here today, SP (City) Muhammad Sarfaraz Alam said that under the direction of SSP Patiala Varun Sharma, under the ongoing campaign against gangsters and anti-social elements, Inspector Harjinder Singh Dhillon, under the leadership of Chief Police Station Kotwali. Rohit alias Chiku who was staying on rent at New Malwa Colony, Snouri Adda Patiala was arrested.
The SP (City) further said that the accused was arrested on May 11 near the cremation ground at the local Ghalodi Gate on the basis of a tip-off. The accused is associated with gangster activities, whose close friend Tejpal resident of New Malwa Colony, Patiala was murdered by its rival party. Now Rohit Kumar alias Cheeku was in the mood to kill the opposition group members. He describes himself as belonging to Nav Lahoria group. According to the police, 7 cases have been registered against Cheeku under affray and other crimes and around 20 cases have been registered against Nav Lahoria. Nav Lahoria is further closely associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi Group. Tejpal was also an active member of their group. Rohit Kumar alias Chiku has been taken into police custody and is being interrogated in depth. More big revelations are expected.
