Patiala, May 9 - Young leader and active social worker Jagminder Singh Swajpur has announced to contest as an independent candidate from Patiala Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, Sikh Sadbhavana Dal leader Baldev Singh Wadala, DSP (retd) Balwinder Singh Sekhon has announced the support of Swajpur and colleagues.
Addressing a press conference at the Patiala Media Club here today, Jagminder Singh Swajpur said that the traditional parties have done the work of looting the people only for their personal benefits by promoting their agenda. He said that Akali Dal is the most 100-year-old party in Punjab But now this party has become the domain of a single family And the Akali Dal has forgotten all the work it had to do in the interests of Punjab. He said that in the same way BJP damaged the buildings of three Gurdwara Sahibs, Gurdwara Dangmar Sahib, Gurdwara Gyan Godri Sahib and Gurdwara Mangu Math and chased away the Muslims while they were praying.
He said that Congress and "AAP" government has done the same with Punjab. First, the Congress government proved to be a failure and ran away from fulfilling its election promises, and now the "AAP" government has betrayed the people and looted Punjab. Baldev Singh Wadala, the leader of the Sikh Sadbhavana Dal and his colleagues present on this occasion said that they have prayed on Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib on April 1, 2024 and supported the leaders who are working for the good of Punjab. He said that now the time of sit-ins and demonstrations is gone, now is the time to fight the war in the election field. He said that we first nominated Avtar Singh Nagla from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Bibi Harwinder Kaur from Ludhiana, independently supported former DSP Balwinder Singh Sekhon in Sangrur and today Jagminder Singh from Patiala Lok Sabha Constituency. We declare support for Swajpur. He said that people who believe in the welfare of the Sikh community and Punjab should support Jagminder Singh Swajpur.
He said that now Punjabis have become disillusioned with the traditional parties and now people are looking towards those candidates who can do good work for their betterment in the right sense. Other dignitaries like Bachitar Singh, Gurjinder Singh Swajpur, Charanjit Singh Bajwa, Ramandeep Singh, Sartaj Singh and Niranjan Singh Hasanpur were also present on this occasion.
