
Desh Bhagat University conducted a knowledge-rich workshop on Sapt Indus Civilization
Mandi Gobindgarh, May 6 - Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages organized an enlightening workshop showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Sapt Indus Civilization. The workshop explored the ancient roots of Indian civilization, going back to the Indus Valley and understanding its importance in the contemporary world.
Mandi Gobindgarh, May 6 - Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages organized an enlightening workshop showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Sapt Indus Civilization. The workshop explored the ancient roots of Indian civilization, going back to the Indus Valley and understanding its importance in the contemporary world. The workshop started with the director of the faculty, Dr. Devinder Kumar, welcoming the chief guest, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh and the audience. He highlighted the importance of the rich cultural heritage and collective identity of Sapt Sindhu. Dr Varinder Garg, MD (Radiology) and OSD to President PGI, Chandigarh attended as special resource person on this occasion. He threw light on the mysteries of the Sapt Indus and explained in detail the manipulations done by the colonial administrators. He said that the Sapt Indus region, which is known as the cradle of civilization, holds the mysteries of thousands of years in its clutches. It is a testament to the resilience of our people that despite the passage of time and the vicissitudes of history, the spirit of Sapt Sindhu remains intact. The soil on which we stand today has witnessed the birth of civilization, the development of languages and the emergence of deep philosophical insights.
Chief Guest Dr Zora Singh Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University in his address highlighted the importance of organizing such a workshop. He urged the audience that as custodians of knowledge and custodians of our cultural heritage, it is our responsibility to delve into history and uncover the stories of our forefathers. Chancellor's advisor Dr Varinder Singh also shared his views on the importance of Sapt Indus Civilization. He also emphasized the need to preserve the cultural heritage.
Dr. Dharminder Singh presented the vote of thanks and thanked the resource person and all dignitaries and attendees. He said the workshop would prove to be an important step in promoting cultural awareness and historical understanding, further strengthening the university's commitment to academic excellence and cultural preservation. On this occasion, a book based on folklore of Dr. Dharminder Singh was also released by the dignitaries.
