Kiln Owners Association and Kiln Workers Union have reached an agreement regarding the new rates of wages

Nawanshahr - In the second round of meeting held today between the representatives of District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Kiln Owners Association and the leaders of Kiln Workers Union, Punjab (IFTU), it was decided to give remuneration to the kiln workers as per the new rates.

According to the written agreement, Rs 919 per thousand bricks will be paid for thick brick, Rs 945 per thousand bricks for tile bricks, stone deposit Rs 35 per thousand bricks. Those owners who make mortar from machines and give it to labour, will deduct Rs 202 per thousand bricks of stone. Similarly, Beldar will be paid Rs 18,700 per month, Helper Rs 16,600, Jali Mistri Rs 18,800, Jalaiman Rs 18,700, Coal Miner Rs 16,600, Munshi Rs 13,200 and Chowkidar Rs 11,500 per month.
Similarly, the fee for opening and closing the ghat will be Rs 900 and the clearing jamadar will be given a deposit of Rs 9 per thousand bricks. District head Ashok Ladoiya, Pawan Bhalla, Sonu Mehta, Johnny Sanawa Agu from Kiln Owners Association and district head Gurdayal Rakkar, Avtar Singh Tari, Bharat Singh and Jagira Bains from Kiln Workers Union attended the meeting.
