Addressing the senior citizens in this Smart Citizen Living Center, which is being run under the leadership of Sanjivani Sharanam President Sangeeta Mittal, the Deputy Commissioner said that in this great festival of democracy, from 18-year-old youth to senior citizens came together to strengthen the country. It will prove to be a unique endeavor to undertake. He appealed and said that all the voters will become partners in this great festival of democracy. He said that the district administration is fully involved in the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, in which every voter is important.
Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that such voters, who are disabled or above 85 years of age, will have to give their consent for 'vote from home' in Form 12-D. On this basis, they will be able to get the benefit of this provision. BLOs have been entrusted with the responsibility of identifying such voters and making the forms available. He invited the senior citizen voters to participate in the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 as well as motivate their family members to vote. Meanwhile, everyone was also given a pledge to vote.
More than 250 Sanjeevani members were present to participate in the event, who were presented with voting awareness caps by the district administration. Meanwhile, District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli enthralled everyone with a poem about the importance of elections. Sanjeevani members Advocate Harish Ari and DK Sharma also shared their views regarding voter awareness. Under the leadership of dance teacher Praveen Sharma, Vanita Sharma, Manjit Kaur, Jasmaira Saini, Ridhi Nanda presented a mesmerizing dance performance.
