Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa mocked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for running its politics with borrowed leaders.
Mohali- He said that it is very absurd that AAP has been active in politics for more than 10 years but has not been able to develop its party cadre at the ground level. Bajwa said that the only reason why AAP's base has not developed is that the people of Punjab still do not trust the party.
Mohali- He said that it is very absurd that AAP has been active in politics for more than 10 years but has not been able to develop its party cadre at the ground level. Bajwa said that the only reason why AAP's base has not developed is that the people of Punjab still do not trust the party.
The Leader of the Opposition said that AAP has fielded three borrowed leaders from the total 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, including Dr. Raj Kumar Chabewal from Hoshiarpur (borrowed from Congress), Pawan Kumar Tinu from Jalandhar (borrowed from Akali Dal) and Gurpreet Singh GP (borrowed from Congress).
Bajwa said that apart from this, AAP has fielded its cabinet ministers and MLAs from other seats. Also, it is very unfortunate for the AAP government because it did not give representation to women in the Lok Sabha elections. The party that often talks about women empowerment and equality did not get a single woman candidate. Bajwa said that earlier the Broom Party had not given representation to women in the Rajya Sabha.
He said that if we look at the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Aam Aadmi Party has lost most of its candidates, leaders and even MPs. Harinder Singh Khalsa, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Harvinder Singh Phoolka, Dr Dharamvir Gandhi, Bhai Baldeep Singh, actress Gul Panag and many other leaders have severed their ties with AAP. Bajwa said that perhaps AAP does not appreciate the presence of sensible voices in its party.
