Patiala, November 16 - Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that 13 lakh 10 thousand 101 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the district till yesterday and 13 lakh 09 thousand 409 metric tons of paddy has been purchased so far.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 557182 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from Pangrain, 333084 metric tons from Markfed, 252435 metric tons from Pansp, 166543 from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation and 165 metric tons from traders. He said that 94 percent lifting of paddy has been done by the procurement agencies and Rs 2772.96 crore has been paid to the farmers.
