Patiala, April 24 – As per the information provided by PSPCL Head Office, Eng GS Khaira SE Amritsar Suburban Circle, Axion Eng Manohar Singh and SDO Dharminder Singh to prepare for uninterrupted supply during the coming summer season, While doing a routine inspection of the Amritsar western subdivision, suddenly he saw two persons tampering with the smart meter near the meter pillar box. SE stopped them and questioned them.
One person escaped but the other was taken into custody by the SE and his team. A magnet and wires used to tamper with the meter were recovered from them. The anti-theft police were called and the detained person was handed over to them. An FIR has been lodged by the SHO of the Anti Power Theft Department in Verka. Considering the seriousness of the incident, a detailed investigation is being conducted by the police.
