
Prohibition on roaming/grazing of stray animals on roads in the district - District Magistrate
Nawanshahr - District Magistrate Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, IAS, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar by an order in the district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Faujdari Jabata Sanghta 1973 (Act-2 of 1974) Roaming of stray animals on roads and grazing in cities/towns/roadsides has been banned.
Nawanshahr - District Magistrate Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, IAS, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar by an order in the district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Faujdari Jabata Sanghta 1973 (Act-2 of 1974) Roaming of stray animals on roads and grazing in cities/towns/roadsides has been banned.
He has made it clear in his order that the Gujras/individuals are roaming in the cities/towns and villages of district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar with huge quantity of cows/buffaloes etc. Damages plants planted along the banks. Due to which farmers and gatekeepers (gujars) are in danger of conflict. Apart from this, traffic is obstructed and sometimes accidents cause damage to vehicles/cattle. Therefore, keeping in mind the difficulties of the residents of district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, the need to take efforts to prevent the roaming/grazing of stray animals on the roads and the spread of foot-and-mouth disease/lumpy skin disease in animals, the said order has been issued. . This order will remain in force till 21 June 2024.
