
Date for submitting licensed weapons extended till 25th April
Una, 22 April:- District Magistrate Una Jatin Lal has ordered all arms holders to deposit their licensed weapons by April 25 to conduct the Lok Sabha elections and two assembly by-elections in the district in a free, fair and fear-free manner. Earlier the deadline for this was 20th April, which has now been extended till 25th April.

He has asked all the gun owners to deposit their arms and ammunition in the nearest police station or authorized dealer or arms house by April 25. Those who do not deposit their weapons by April 25, their weapons will be confiscated along with their licenses.
He said that action will be taken against those who disobey the orders as per law.
However, this order will not apply to the on-duty armed, paramilitary forces, home guards, police personnel, security guards of nationalized-notified commercial banks and personnel handling the responsibility of law and order. Apart from this, people participating in various sports events of the National Rifle Association. Those members will also be exempted from these orders.
