Nawanshahr - Red Cross De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center Nawanshahr organized an awareness camp under "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan" at Government High School, Chakali Sujait. Which was chaired jointly by Manoj Kumar (Head Teacher) and Kamala Devi (Sarampach).

On this occasion, Chaman Singh (Project Director) gave an address and said that the youth of Punjab are badly trapped in the nexus of drugs, while the history of Punjab is not like this. The land of Punjab has always given birth to brave warriors, but some People are putting the youth on the path of drugs for their own benefits. He said that the youth should be aware of drugs so that they can avoid diseases caused by them. Addiction alienates a person from society and family. The mental level of a person addicted to drugs falls to such an extent that he starts committing accidents like suicide while being away from each and every relationship. He said that uncultured literature has affected children and society a lot. Due to which our youth today is falling prey to disease like addiction after breaking away from culture. Today's youth should connect with their mother tongue and literature.
On this occasion Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Councillor) while addressing the gathering said that the youth of today are the future of tomorrow. He informed the people about the facilities and activities of the center and said that we should take care of the surroundings and our children to avoid the evils found in the society. Keep the body healthy with a balanced diet which will also keep the mind healthy and if any youth is caught in this drug like disease then he should be encouraged to join Kedar for treatment. He gave detailed information about the treatment of patients at the center.
On this occasion, Manoj Kumar (head teacher) raised awareness about drug addiction and assured that in the future they will continue to conduct drug awareness camps. The school staff thanked the team from Red Cross. The project director answered the questions of the students in detail. Rajinder Kaur (teacher), Suresh Kumar (punch), Mahender Pal, Manjit Kaur (Asha worker), Sunita Rani, Charan Singh, Dalveer Kaur, Sahil Kumar and villagers were present on this occasion.
