Patiala, April 18 - Till last day, 1 lakh 22 thousand 577 metric tons of wheat has reached the markets of Patiala district, out of which 1 lakh 2 thousand 988 metric tons of wheat has been purchased. Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare has said that 43 thousand 632 metric tons of wheat have arrived in the markets of Patiala district yesterday and 40 thousand 848 metric tons were purchased.
The Deputy Commissioner said that so far Pangrain has purchased 34697 metric tons, Markfed 19090 metric tons, Pansap 23055 metric tons, Warehouse 15020 metric tons and 11126 metric tons from traders. And so far the farmers have been paid Rs 101.39 crore. He appealed to the farmers to bring their produce to the mandis after drying them so that they do not have to spend extra time in the mandis.
