During the meeting, Kanchan Arora informed the Anganwadi workers about the Juvenile Justice Act and the POCSO Act. It was said that if anyone begs or makes labor from children under the age of 18 years, then he is considered a crime under the Juvenile Justice Act. And any person doing so may be severely punished under the above Act Along with this, 18 years for girl's marriage and 21 years for boy's marriage has been fixed. If anyone performs child marriage of a child before the specified age, it is also considered a crime in legal form. Along with this, he informed that various children's homes have been built for the protection of needy and helpless children. Where helpless children are given shelter And children's education, food, medical and counseling facilities are arranged. So if anyone sees a child in need, his information can be given at the District Child Protection Unit.
Madam Kanchan Arora, shedding light on the crimes committed against children, said that cases of sexual abuse, physical abuse and mental abuse of children are coming to light these days. Therefore, Protection of Children from Sex has been implemented for the protection of children Under which there is a provision of punishment for child abuse Therefore, the general public is requested to contact the District Child Protection Unit Room No. 413 DC office to give information about any kind of child abuse. Apart from this, child helpline number 1098 can also be contacted for protection of children's rights and for giving information about child abuse. He appealed that to create a bright future for our children in Punjab, let us protect the rights of children together.
