In honor of this achievement, Prof Naresh K Panda, Head of the Department along with his Otolaryngology team at PGIMER is commemorating this milestone on April 6th, with Dr Vivek Lal, Director,PGI as their Chief Guest

PGIMER, a trailblazer in healthcare innovation, is poised to celebrate the journey of two decades of Cochlear Implantation at the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Nexk Surgery. In honor of this achievement, Prof Naresh K Panda, Head of the Department along with his Otolaryngology team at PGIMER is commemorating this milestone on April 6th, with  Dr Vivek Lal, Director,PGI as their Chief Guest and Guest of honour will be Padmashri Dr Mohan Kameshwaran,  Professor and Managing Director,  Madras ENT research foundation (MERF), their mentor who enabled starting the Cochlear Implant program at PGI, thereby transforming the landscape of hearing healthcare and raising awareness about the transformative power of cochlear implants.

The highly anticipated affair will unfold at the Bhargava auditorium from 3 pm onwards, drawing a distinguished assembly of medical luminaries, recipients and their families, alongside community stakeholders. With interactive sessions and performances by CI recipients, the event endeavors to illuminate the remarkable advancements in cochlear implant technology witnessed over the past two decades. Testimonials from the beneficiaries of cochlear implants will underscore the profound metamorphosis in their quality of life, adding a poignant dimension to the proceedings.
