Through another order, the District Magistrate has also issued a ban on setting fire to the grain of wheat in Hoshiarpur district.
In the issued orders, it is said that the combines work 24 hours to cut the wheat. These combines cut the wet wheat due to overnight dew. In this way, the moisture in wheat is likely to exceed the government's prescribed standard and the procurement agencies are unable to buy the wheat, due to which the farmers have to face unnecessary difficulties in selling the wheat in the markets.
Apart from this, it has also been observed that due to the practice of setting fire to the grain of wheat by the respective owners, the waste of wheat is set on fire, with which there is a possibility of loss of life and property and major accidents also occur. can There is fear of fighting in villages and pollution can cause respiratory diseases. The fertility of the soil is also reduced due to damage to the fertile female organisms of the soil. Many beneficial organisms present in the upper surface of the land die, which directly affects the farmers and indirectly affects the production of the country. These orders will remain in force till 26 May 2024.
