Hoshiarpur - Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Mal Patwari Paramveer Singh posted at Tehsil Office Dasuha, Hoshiarpur on charges of demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5200 during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state. It is to be noted that the said accused was evading his arrest in this case for the last one month. Expressing this here today, the official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the said goods employee has been arrested after investigating the complaint filed by Manpreet Kaur, a resident of village Panwan of Hoshiarpur district on the Chief Minister's Anti-Corruption Action Line. He further said that during the investigation of the said complaint, it came to light that the said accused had taken a bribe of Rs 5,200 from the complainant for demarcation of his land and kept his application pending for three months. It may be mentioned that after the completion of the investigation, a case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Range last month, but the accused Patwari was evading his arrest since then. He said that the accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further investigation of the case is going on.
