Una, March 23 - The 54th annual prize distribution ceremony of Government College of Excellence, Una was celebrated with great pomp in the college premises on Saturday. The annual prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Director Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma.
Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma said that in the annual prize distribution ceremony, students get a proper platform to highlight their talent and they are honored for their excellent performance in sports, academics and other activities. He said that Una College has a history. The students studying from Government Degree College are bringing glory to Una district by providing their services in the best institutions of the state and the country. He said that participation of students and teachers plays a very important role in making the college successful and every event of the college successful.
He said that at present about 38 hundred students are studying in Una College, which includes 23 hundred girls and 15 hundred boys. There are 10 colleges in the entire state in which the number of students is approximately 35 hundred or more. Degree College Una has its own identity among these 10 colleges.
Apart from this, he instructed the college administration to form groups of NSS, NCC and Scouts and Guides to keep the students away from evil so that the activities of the children can be monitored. Even if a child has become a victim of wrong habits, then take appropriate steps to bring him on the right path. He said that by involving all the students in various activities of the college, their positive energy can be used in various social development works along with the college.
He cautioned students to develop work culture along with education and be cautious about new technology, artificial intelligence and cyber crime.
On this occasion, College Principal Mita Sharma read the annual report of the college and gave information about various activities of the college.

At the ceremony, Director of Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Sharma honored all the meritorious students who performed excellently in various activities in the academic session 2022-23 by giving them prizes.
