Chandigarh: 13th March, 2024: Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh is organizing Industry-Academia Expert Lecture Week from 11th to 15th March, 2024. Various Departments will organize Lectures in a variety of fields as of Communication, AI, ML, Power Generation, Electronics, and Industry as a whole, inducing an amalgamation of academia and Industry. 

Today, the Department of Mathematics organized an Expert Lecture on ''Application of Linear Programming in Oil Refineries'' by Mr. Sahil Singla(Manager Optimization, Total Energies, Texas, US). He Highlighted the importance of linear programming in streamlining operations within the oil refining industry. Shared real-world examples and case studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of these techniques. Emphasized the role of mathematical optimization in addressing complex challenges faced by the industry.
The lecture generated significant interest and engagement from the audience, with attendees actively participating in the Q&A session. Participants appreciated the practical insights shared by Mr. Singla and expressed a desire for more such sessions in the future.
