On 07.02.2024, the Excise Department conducted a thorough inspection at the bottling plant, M/s Zannat Beverages Private Limited, situated in Industrial Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh. During the inspection, discrepancies pertaining to the stock of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA), commonly known as Spirit, were identified. 
Subsequently, necessary legal proceedings were initiated against the licensee before the court of competent authority, as per Excise Act/Rules. In addition, upon recommendation of Excise Department, Chandigarh Police has initiated criminal proceedings and registered a FIR to investigate role of Bottling Plant as well as transporters in the illegal flow of liquor. The Excise Department reiterates its commitment to taking stringent action against any individual or establishment found involved in such illegal activities that harms both the society and State Exchequer.
