Una, March 2 - All the members registered in the ration card under EKYC are being linked to the Aadhaar card in the pause machines in all the fair price shops of the district so that all the eligible beneficiaries can get the benefits of government schemes. In this series, eKYC of consumers is being done by fair price shop owners in the district. Giving information about this, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the ration card consumers who have not got their eKYC done can get their eKYC done at the concerned/nearby fair price shop before March 31. He said that the ration cards of consumers who do not get eKYC done will be temporarily closed. Under the Targeted Public Distribution System, eKYC is mandatory to get cheaper ration in future. He said that it is mandatory for consumers to get their EKYC done through biometric means by visiting the nearest fair price shop along with Aadhar card. He said that consumers who are away from their home/village due to studies, employment etc. can get eKYC done at their nearest fair price shop in the state or at their fair price shop after returning home. Apart from this, those consumers whose eKYC is not being done even after making maximum efforts (like small children/elderly), they/their guardians should get their biometric updated in the nearest Aadhaar card center so that eKYC can be done for all the consumers of the district. He said that for other information related to eKYC, contact your nearest Fair Price Shop / concerned Section Inspector, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs or District Controller, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Una, on telephone number 01975-226016 or 1967.
