Nawanshahr, February 08, 2024:- Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board and District Child Protection Unit under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa (IAS) regarding the protection of destitute, needy and children involved in legal disputes of the district (from October to December 2023) Quarterly review meeting. 
While starting the meeting, District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora pointed out that Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board and District Child Protection Unit are working for the protection of destitute, needy and children involved in legal disputes. He gave the details of the work done by the Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board and District Child Protection Unit under the quarter and also discussed with the committee for the office set-up of Child Line Office and Juvenile Justice Board.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials of the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development to identify such children who roam the streets or do child labor in the school age and then take action regarding their rehabilitation. He said that any child in trouble can get help by calling Child Helpline No. 1098 for crimes against children, child labor complaints. He ordered the chairperson Child Welfare Committee to ensure the security of the child met late in the morning and asked the police department to present the helpless and needy child before the Child Welfare Committee within 24 hours.
During the said meeting, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Dr. Mandeep Kamal, Office, Civil Surgeon, Mr. Varinder Singh, District Education Officer (A), Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Deputy District Education Officer (S) Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. , Dr. Venus Goyal, Member JJ Board, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Miss Sanjana, Office Deputy Commissioner, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Mrs. Sonia, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Office Staff District Child Protection Unit, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar were present.
