
People fairs will make the dream of Rangle Punjab come true - Deputy Commissioner Randhawa
Nawanshahr - District level Open Youth Festival was started at RK Arya College Nawanshahr as per the order of Director Youth Services, Punjab. In which Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Navjotpal Singh Randhawa and College Managing Committee President Vinod Bhadwaj participated as chief guests. The program was started by lighting the lamp by the Deputy Commissioner. He said that folk fairs are playing an important role in realizing the dream of colorful Punjab.

Assistant Director Youth Services, Dr. Malkit Singh Mann, while giving information about the event, said that a person in the age group of 15 to 35 years can participate in this open youth festival. Yuvak Mela is a great initiative of the department to connect the youth with culture. College Principal Dr. Sanjeev Dawar welcomed the guests and said that it is a matter of pride for our college to conduct the District Youth Festival. With this, students can hone their skills by participating in academic as well as cultural activities. Students of different schools and colleges of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district participated in this event. On the first day, traditional songs, traditional dress, traditional folk art competition, folk songs, use of useless objects, debate and speech competitions were conducted.
At this time Ravneet Kaur Bains, Mandeep Kaur and Sunil Kumar Parminder Sekhon played the role of judges in Giddha, traditional song, traditional dress, folk song, traditional competition. Similarly, Sunil Kumar, Dr. Ambika Sharma, Prof. Maridula Kalia acted as judges for debate and speech competitions. After seeing the entire program, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the organizers and performed the prize distribution ceremony. Sikh National College Banga won first place in Gidhe, RK Arya College won second place, Inderpreet Kaur won first place in traditional dress, Gurleen Kaur won second place, SN College won traditional song. Zasleen Kaur got first place in declamation, Ramandeep Kaur got second place. Dapinderbal won first place in divot, Damanpreet Kaur won second place, Shahid Ali won first place, Tania won second place in folk song. Pallavi Sharma got first in reuse of useless objects, Vicky got second. Amanpreet Kaur won the first place in the side weaving, Anchal got the first place in Pidi, Samat got the second place, Tanu got the first place in Chhikku, Diksha got the first place in Nala weaving, Amanpreet Kaur got the second place. The Deputy Commissioner released financial assistance grants to youth service clubs.
