India's Yogesh Kathunia turned in a season's best performance of 42.22m to win his second consecutive Paralympic silver medal in the men's discus throw F-56 event at the Paralympic Games. The 27-year-old threw the discus the podium-clinching distance to win silver in his maiden attempt at the Tokyo Paralympics three years ago.

At the age of 9, Kathunia was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. Meanwhile, being on a wheelchair, he overcame the difficulties of life with the help of his mother Meena Devi. Notably, the player's mother learned physiotherapy to help him gain muscle strength to walk again.
In addition to two Paralympic silver medals, he has three World Championship medals, including two silver and one bronze.
