Garhshankar, January 18 - The meeting of Powercom and Transco Contract Employees Union was held at Garhshankar Division Office. The leader of the union said that CHB and contract workers will stage a dharna in front of the Patiala head office on January 23. He alleged that the Punjab government and the management are not serious about the demands of the contract employees.
He demanded that in the new recruitment being done by the department, contract employees should be confirmed on priority basis. Along with giving compensation to the family of the employee who died while on duty, a permanent job should be arranged. On this occasion, Divisional Pradhan Lakhvir Singh, Amarvir Singh, Baljinder Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Ravi, Gurpreet, Honey, Sandeep etc. were present.
