Starting the program by lighting the candle, the cabinet minister said that the Punjab government is making continuous efforts to make Punjab a colorful Punjab again and under the link of these efforts, district level youth fairs are being conducted in every district. Preet Kohli said that on the first day of the youth fair, the students of various colleges, schools and youth clubs performed a series of folk songs, poems, war singing, traditional Punjabi dress, folk instrument group, folk instrument solo, phulkari, nale bunana, generation making, Shikku making, pakhi making, good use of useless objects and took part in fine art.
He said that Dasmesh Girls College Mukerian got the first position, Government College Hoshiarpur got the second position and BAM Khalsa College got the third position in Kavishari.
In folk song competitions, Skarari College Hoshiarpur won first place, Dasmesh Girls College Mukerian won second place, GTB Khalsa College Dasuha won third place, Government Senior Secondary School Sagar won fourth place.

SPN College of Nursing was the winner in war singing.
