  During which an in-depth discussion was held on the smooth implementation of national and provincial health programs and achieving their ultimate goals. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur instructed that the head of every government health institution should ensure that the people coming for treatment in government health institutions do not face any kind of trouble. Patients should be treated gently. Dr. Kaur asked to pay special attention to parent-child health services. He also asked to ensure that registration of pregnant women should be done as soon as possible So that all their ANC checkups are completed on time by expert doctors in the government hospital.
He said that the fourth ANC checkup of pregnant women is very important. He said that the delivery of pregnant women should be ensured only in the government hospital. He also said that by preparing a linelist of high-risk women, special attention should be paid to their health So that maternal deaths can be reduced. The district health chief further said that emphasis should be placed on digitalization of health records by creating Ayushman Bharat-Health Account (Abha) of patients coming to health institutions and promoting the use of this initiative. Because creating this health account will eliminate the hassle of maintaining health records. These Abha IDs should be created on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Portal. Civil surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur while issuing instructions to the health officials regarding Shans program in the meeting said that Asha workers should be sent from house to house to educate the parents of children up to five years about the symptoms of pneumonia. So that the infant mortality rate can be further reduced by timely identification of pneumonia. Civil surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur said that deaths due to pneumonia can be prevented If it is checked and treated on time. Although the child mortality rate in Punjab is lower than the rest of the country But still the district health department is striving to ensure complete health protection of children. Breast milk in the first 6 months, complementary feeding, vitamin-A supplement, increasing coverage of PCV vaccine, hand washing and reducing indoor air pollution and timely treatment are needed to protect children from pneumonia.
