Protest by Panchayati Raj Pensioners Union

SAS Nagar, January 9 - The Panchayati Raj Pensioners Union Punjab protested in front of the head office of the Director Panchayat Department Punjab for the resolution of their long pending demands and raised slogans against the concerned bureaucracy of the department and the Punjab government.

The pensioners of the panchayat committees, district councils who participated in the protest protest said that the bureaucracy of the department and the current government are continuing to discriminate against us which was started by the previous government of Captain Amarinder Singh. He said that in July 2021, the department had given the salaries of the employees as per the sixth pay commission But the pensioners' pensions were allowed to remain unchanged Due to which the pensioners supported the AAP party during the 2022 assembly elections But even after the passage of 21 months, their support was not appreciated by the present government.

He said that apart from not implementing the report of the sixth pay commission, the related bureaucracy of the department is also doing injustice to the pensioners. They are not given full service pension, old age allowance is also given only up to 70 years and there is a lot of delay in giving pension to pensioners.

Jagir Singh, Gurmeet Singh Bhankharpur, Kuljit Singh Bath, Narinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Satpal Man Singh, Mahinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Dayal Singh, Davinder Kumar, Jagdish Singh, Rajpal, Darshan Kaur were also present in the protest.
