
Voter registration for SGPC elections till February 29 - Deputy Commissioner
Una, January 2 - The work of preparing the electoral roll for the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee elections has been started which will continue till February 29. Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma said that according to the schedule received from Director Panchayati Raj and Commissioner Gurdwara Elections, Himachal Pradesh, the initial publication of the handwritten manual will be prepared and its printing and maintenance will be done from March 1 to 20. He informed that the initial publication of the rules will be done by the Deputy Commissioner on March 21.

Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma said that according to the schedule received from Director Panchayati Raj and Commissioner Gurdwara Elections, Himachal Pradesh, the initial publication of the handwritten manual will be prepared and its printing and maintenance will be done from March 1 to 20. He informed that the initial publication of the rules will be done by the Deputy Commissioner on March 21. He said that the claims and objections related to the name, post and address published by the Deputy Commissioner in the preliminary publication list or in the case of an employee, his post and address can be submitted to the concerned revision authority by March 21. He said that the last date for receiving claims and objections will be April 11. He informed that all the claims and objections received by the Deputy Commissioner under Rule 10(3) of the Sikh Gurdwara Board Election Rules, 1959 will be settled on April 21. He said that the abbreviated rolls will be prepared for printing by May 2 and the final publication of voter lists will be done on May 3.
He said that Sikh voters who have completed 21 years of age by 18.12.2023 can get their names registered in the voter list.
He said that the interested person can get the form to enroll his name in the voter list from the SDM office or Patwari or municipal body office. Raghav Sharma told that only the form provided by the SDM office should be filled and submitted. In rural areas the forms will be submitted to the Patwari and in urban areas the forms will be submitted to the Secretaries/Executive Officers of the urban bodies. Voter's name, parents/husband's name should be verified from Aadhaar Card issued by Government or Voter Identity Card issued by Election Commission of India and number should be mentioned (Form should be attached with Aadhaar Card and self-attested copy of Voter Card) ).
Raghav Sharma said that the voter's latest self-attested passport size color photograph should be affixed on the form and the voter's signature/thumb impression should be there in the space provided on the form. The affidavit included in the form must have signatures/thumb impressions.
