Patiala, December 31 - In the prestigious election of the famous Rajindra Gymkhana Club here, the Goodwill Group has had a heavy lead and out of the five main positions including the President, three important positions have gone to this group. The Honorary Secretary and Treasurer have been elected from the United Progressive Group.
According to the results announced by Returning Officer RN Kaushal and two AROs Dr Harbhajan Singh Bath and AS Billing, President Goodwill Group Dr Sukhdeep Singh Sukhi Boparai was elected. He defeated United Progressive Group's Deepak Kampani by a margin of 169 votes. Dr Neeraj Goyal became the Vice President of the Goodwill Group. He defeated MM Sial by a margin of 102 votes. Joint Secretary was also elected from Goodwill Group. Dr. Sanjay Bansal of this group defeated Rahul Mehta by 80 votes. Harpreet Singh Sandhu (Honorary Secretary) and AP Garg (Treasurer) of United Progressive Group were the winners. He defeated Dr. Sudhir Verma and Mohit Dhodi respectively. Dr Verma lost by a margin of 68 votes and Dhodi by just 32 votes.
Among the elected executive members, Pradeep Kumar Singla secured maximum 1038 votes. The other elected members include Vinod Kumar Sharma, Dr. Anshuman Kharbanda, Jatin Goyal, Jatin Mittal, Bikramjit Singh and Avinash Gupta. After the election, the new office bearers were welcomed with defeats and congratulated. All the selected team thanked the entire club members.
