SAS Nagar, December 23 – The RAGE Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp at Phase-7 Mohali team has arrested a heroin smuggler along with 52 grams of heroin. The spokesperson of the department said that the police is conducting a campaign against drug smugglers and bad elements as per the direction of ADGP Mr. Jaskaran Singh. He said that on December 22, the team of Rage Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp at Phase-7 Mohali was present at PTL Chowk SAS Nagar under the leadership of SI Sukhwinder Singh. Meanwhile, a young man from PTL Chowk Tapu Union was seen coming from the slip road on foot.
He said that the said person has given his name as Inderjit Singh alias Babbu resident Mahila Wala Teh Ajnala Police Station Jhandir District Amritsar. A case has been registered against him under Section 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Phase-1 Mohali and Inderjit Singh alias Babbu has been arrested.
He said that this person has been produced in the honorable court today and remanded in police custody for 2 days. He said that during the police remand, this person will be questioned as to where he had brought this heroin from and to whom he was going to sell it.
