Patiala, December 21 - Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni today held a high-level meeting regarding the celebration of Republic Day, in which he instructed the heads of the departments to carry out the assigned responsibilities with full diligence.
The Deputy Commissioner said that Republic Day is to be celebrated with full enthusiasm on January 26 and on this important day, where the freedom fighters and their families will be honoured, unique personalities will also be honoured. He said that tableaus showing cultural programs and various development works will also be taken out on Republic Day. Apart from this, a colorful cultural program will be presented by Labrez school students and Gidhe and Bhangra will be presented by college students. Sakshi Sahni said that during the event to be held at the local Polo Ground (Raja Bhalinder Singh Sports Complex), Punjab Police units, Punjab Home Guard, ITBP, Set Zone Ambulance, Scout Girls Guide, NCC Army Wing, NCC Air Wing, etc. A parade will be held by the troops. He instructed the heads of the departments to supervise the arrangements of this important event themselves and said that any kind of negligence in the preparations of this event will not be tolerated. Apart from others, SP Sarfaraz Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anupreeta Johal, Navreet Kaur Sekhon, SDM Patiala Ismit Vijay Singh were present in the meeting.
