Una, December 18 - Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Vinay Kumar said that yesterday, a successful operation for diaphragmatic hernia of buffalo was done at Zonal Animal Hospital, Barnoh. Dr Rakesh, Dr Nishant, Dr Shilpa and Dr Stephanie were involved in this operation. He told that the operation lasted for about 5 hours. He told that for the first time in history, operation of diaphragmatic hernia has been done.
Dr. Vinay Kumar told that the buffalo is now absolutely healthy. He gave credit for this operation to the team of skilled doctors who played an important role in making the operation successful. He said that the buffalo was sent home but the team of doctors is continuously monitoring it. He told that about 40 to 50 operations are done every month in the Regional Animal Hospital Barnoh. He told that this institute works as lower referral union of Una, Hamirpur and Kangra. He told that in future , it is desired to conduct X-ray, ultrasound, liver, kidney test and in-depth examination of animals in this institute of big or small animals.
