
Baldev Singh Saran honored with "Eminent Engineer Award" by IEI
Shimla, December 17 - The Electrical Engineering Division Board (ELDB) of the National Institute of Engineers, "Institution of Engineers India" (IEI) organized the 38th National Convention of Electrical Engineers at Shimla. During the meeting, Inj Baldev Singh Saran, Chairman cum Managing Director Punjab State Power Corporation Limited was honored with the 'Eminent Engineer Award 2023'.

During the meeting, Inj Baldev Singh Saran, Chairman cum Managing Director Punjab State Power Corporation Limited was honored with the 'Eminent Engineer Award 2023'.
IEI appreciated the important role played by Eng Baldev Saran and his significant contribution and outstanding services in the power sector of Punjab. During the felicitation ceremony, ELDB Chairman, Dr SK Kala said that the award was given to Inj Baldev Singh Saran for his valuable contribution in the field of electrical engineering. Appreciating the hardworking CMD, he said that Inj Baldev Singh Saran has demonstrated ability, intelligence and confidence throughout his career and achieved excellence in the power sector while facing many challenges.
In his address, Eng Baldev Singh Saran said that engineering is not just a profession or a degree, but a way of thinking. He invited the engineers to work as missionaries in their respective fields. Reflecting on the convention's theme 'Systematic Adoption of Electric Vehicles', Eng Saran stressed that engineers should work to improve battery technologies and make those batteries more efficient, affordable and environmentally sustainable. He said electrical engineers should take the lead in designing smart charging that optimizes energy consumption and fully integrates with renewable sources.
