Nawanshahr - Government of India is providing financial assistance of six thousand rupees to farmers during the year under the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana'. Giving information in this regard, the newly appointed Chief Agriculture Officer of the district, Dr. Dapinder Singh, said that the government has so far sent fifteen installments to the farmers' accounts under this scheme.
But due to lack of EKYC and land seeding of many farmers benefiting from this scheme, they are not getting its payment. In this regard, special camps are being organized in all the blocks of the district by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare regarding the EKYC of the beneficiaries. In which, on 18 December 2023, the villages of Baharowal, Gosal, Sotran of Banga block and on 19 December 2023, the villages of Bhin, Gujarpur, Jabbowal and Mahalon of Nawanshahr block and the ADB villages of Balachour block will be installed at Paragpur, Kuhar, Auliapur and Uladhani. On 21 December 2023, these special camps will be organized at Pojewal, Singhpur, Torowal and Rodi villages of Block Saroa. The Chief Agriculture Officer said that the farmers whose installments have been stopped can attend these special camps with their Aadhaar card and mobile phone number associated with Aadhaar number on the mentioned dates to get EKYC and land seeding done. For more information, other farmers of Lai district should also immediately contact the agriculture office of their block to get KYC and land seeding so that they can pay the outstanding and upcoming installments.
