Traffic advice in dense fog and mist
Raghav Sharma told that drive your vehicle at low speed in fog. Keep lights on low beam during fog. High beams are not as effective in hazy weather conditions. Use fog lights if visibility becomes minimal. Maintain good distance between vehicles and, when visibility is extremely poor, use the lines painted on the road as a guide. Apart from this, do not use mobile phone and loud music system while driving.
Cold wave protection measures
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the cold wave, stay safe indoors. While going out of the house, cover your head, ears, hands, feet and nose only. Keep getting weather information from newspapers, radio and TV. Be alert to local weather forecasts and upcoming temperature changes. To maintain the flow of heat in the body, consume nutritious food and hot beverages. Wear woolen and warm clothes in cold. Keep the body dry. If clothes are wet, there may be lack of heat.
He told that by using heaters, kerosene, coal fireplace in the rooms, ensure proper arrangement for exhausting the smoke. Keep your head covered, as heat can be lost through the head in the cold. Keep your mouth covered as well, this will protect your lungs from cold. He told that do not do hard work in low temperature, do not do physical work beyond your capacity, this can create a risk of heart attack. Apart from this, keep an eye on the symptoms of frostbite like numbness of body parts, appearance of white or yellow spots on hands, toes, ears, nose, etc. He told to keep an eye on the symptoms of hypothermia like memory loss, unlimited shivering, lethargy, fatigue, stammering etc.
He said that if you do not feel well or feel any kind of problem, then contact the doctor immediately.
