SAS Nagar, December 14 – Former Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has demanded the Punjab government to immediately operationalize the 25-bed Primary Health Center (PHC) approved by the previous Congress government at village Suneta. Speaking to reporters at PHC Saneta today, Sidhu said that the construction of this hospital has been completed and keeping the health needs of the area in focus, it should be commissioned without any delay. Panch-Sarpanch, Mohatbar of the area and party workers were also present with him on this occasion.

Mr. Sidhu said that this hospital was approved during the previous Congress government, the foundation stone of which was laid by him in the presence of Member of Parliament Manish Tiwari in 2021. He said that 3.11 acres of land on the national highway was donated by the Saneta village panchayat for this hospital. He said that this entire project was worth 12.50 crores for which 3 crores were released during the previous government, through which Punjab Health Corporation has constructed this PHC.

Mr. Sidhu said that in the remaining nine and a half crore rupees, the residential rooms of the doctors and employees, the purchase of X-ray machine and other equipment in the hospital and its surrounding walls were to be made. He said that the current government did not release any funds during its two and a half year tenure.

He expressed apprehension that the current government is proposing to open an Aam Aadmi clinic in this PHC, which the residents of the area will not tolerate at any cost. He demanded from the Punjab government that the PHC should be started here immediately. He also demanded the release of necessary funds for ongoing works.

On this occasion, former Chairman of Market Committee Kharar Harkesh Chand Sharma Machali Kalan, Deputy Chairman of Labor Fed and District Council Member Contractor Mohan Singh Bathlana, Former Sarpanch of Suneta Chaudhary Rishi Pal, Chaudhary Harnek Singhneki, Sher Singh Daidi, Gurdeep Singh Sarpanch Daidi, Chaudhary Deep Chand former Sarpanch Gobindgarh, Harbhajan Singh Raipur Kalan, Gurmail Singh Chaumajra, Namdar Gurcharan Singh Gigemajra, Sarabjit Singh Bathlana, Swaran Singh Durali, Jitinder Sood Manauli and a large number of Congress workers were present.
