Sakshi Sahni said that according to the School Bag Policy 2020, the weight of the bags of school children should not exceed 10 percent of the child's weight and if this happens, then this violation of the policy will also have a negative impact on the mental and physical health of the children. puts He said that all schools in the district should ensure correct weight of children's bags as per the policy.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the school heads to inform the parents of the young children about the school bag policy so that they send books to the schools according to the time table. He said that schools should also take other necessary steps including time table, number of copies at their level so that the weight of children's books can be reduced. He said that parents should not give heavy bags to their children and especially trolley bags should be avoided. He said that checking will also be done in the next few days to strictly implement the school bag policy in the district.
On this occasion, District Child Protection Officer Shaina Kapur, Deputy District Education Officer Elementary Manwinder Kaur Bhullar and Deputy District Education Officer Ravinder Singh gave detailed information to the school heads regarding the school bag policy 2020 and discussed ideas to reduce the weight of bags.
During the meeting, Sakshi Sahni also instructed the schools to strictly follow the safe vehicle policy.
