Chandigarh (Paigam-E-Jagat): As per the visionary thinking of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, taking an important initiative in the direction of realizing the dreams of girls of Punjab who want to join the armed forces, the state government has organized a special training for girls at Kapurthala. Center for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-Pite) has decided to open a camp. It is to be noted that this camp will be run by women staff only. This decision was taken in the 33rd meeting of the Executive Board of C-PIT held under the chairmanship of Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora. Aman Arora said that the existing C-Pit camp located at Theh Kanjhala in Kapurthala district will be converted into a camp for girls, where they will be trained in the armed forces, Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Punjab Police. Training will be provided for recruitment. Earlier, only boys were being trained in this C-Pite camp.
He said that C-Pite will also arrange Service Selection Board (SSB) training for the youth of Punjab who pass the written examination of NDA or CDS to join the armed forces as officers. The cabinet minister further informed that apart from starting security and fire-fighting training for the youth, it has also been decided to give armed security training. Apart from this, driving training, JCB/poklan and drone operating training will also be started for the youth in C-Piet camps of the state. Principal Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Mrs. Jaspreet Talwar, Director Miss Amrit Singh, Director General C-Piet Major General (Retd) Rambir Singh Mann and senior officers of other departments were also present in this meeting.
