Rickshaws dispatched for polio awareness

Patiala, December 8 - Civil Surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur today from the office of the Civil Surgeon to promote Pulse Polio campaign in connection with the Pulse Polio campaign from December 10 to 12 under the Sub National Vaccination Day being conducted as per the guidelines of Director Health and Family Welfare Punjab.

Patiala, December 8 - Civil Surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur today from the office of the Civil Surgeon to promote Pulse Polio campaign in connection with the Pulse Polio campaign from December 10 to 12 under the Sub National Vaccination Day being conducted as per the guidelines of Director Health and Family Welfare Punjab. The rickshaws were flagged off. Dr. Raminder Kaur said that these rickshaws have been arranged by the health department to promote the polio campaign in different mohallas, slum areas, factory areas, colonies and different parts of the city. He said that this time the target has been set to administer polio vaccine drops to all 1,80,402 children between 0-5 years of age in the district and to make this campaign successful, on Sunday, December 10, Jaga Jaga will be held in the district to administer the medicine to the children. 921 booths will be installed and 32 transit points will be constructed. Apart from this, 25 mobile teams have also been formed, which will administer anti-polio drops to the children of laborers living in slums, marriage palaces, kilns, paths, grain markets, shellers and new under-construction buildings. 192 supervisors have been appointed to look after their work.
District Vaccination Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur appealed that during the campaign, they must give polio vaccine to their children between 0-5 years of age to protect them from the unwanted disease of polio.
