Patiala, November 25 - Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni reviewed the ongoing work in view of the announcement made by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann on the occasion of the inauguration of CM's Yogashala on April 5 this year for the renovation of Patiala's Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the spot and reviewed the work to be started on the initial stage of the newly constructed 50-bed critical care unit at the Government Rajindra Hospital at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
Sakshi Sahni said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is giving special attention to health, education and sports in the state, in view of this, the Chief Minister has renovated the Shaheed Major Tejinderpal Singh Sohal Memorial Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall located at Polo Ground in Patiala. He said that repairs of the roof of the gymnasium hall, down-ceiling, bathrooms and toilets, water supply, lighting and ventilation and other repair works are being done rapidly. The Deputy Commissioner ordered Piyush Agarwal, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department and other officials to complete the work by the end of December 2023.
After this, the Deputy Commissioner visited Rajindra Hospital and here under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, a 50-bed critical care block (unit) was approved at a cost of Rs. ) directed the officials to complete the preliminary procedures to start the work.
Officials said that all the work at the initial stage has been settled and the senior architect will prepare the drawings and hand them over to the Punjab Health System Corporation by next week and start the construction work.
