Una, November 25 - District Disaster Management Authority Chairman and Magistrate Una Raghav Sharma has issued an advisory keeping the winter season in mind. Fire accidents in offices during winter season occur due to short circuit, overheating, overloading, poor quality equipment, wrong connection of electrical wires and negligence. To control these accidents, he said that every day at the end of office hours, one employee should ensure to switch off all the electrical appliances while returning from the office and should keep checking the electronic appliances and wiring at regular intervals. .
Raghav Sharma said that in case of fire, immediately call 101/1077 and inform. Electrical points in all government/private office buildings should be thoroughly inspected to reduce the risk of hazards due to increased load due to use of heating appliances in winter.
He instructed all the department heads to get inspection and fire safety audit done by any other authorized agency recommended by the fire department regarding the availability of fire safety equipment in their offices. To maintain the flow of heat in homes and offices during winter, heaters, kerosene, coal stoves etc. are used. Make sure to make proper arrangements for exhausting the smoke and gas generated while using such equipment in the rooms.
