
Startup scheme of Rs 680 crore will be started soon, lakhs of youth will get employment: Sukhu

Mr. Sukhu said that the present state government is soon going to launch the first phase of the Rs 680 crore start-up scheme to provide self-employment to the youth. He said that the labor department is now registering the employment providers so that they can get trained youth as per their requirement. The Chief Minister said that to promote the operation of e-vehicles, it is proposed to construct 107 e-charging stations in the state, out of which 53 e-charging stations will be constructed at various petrol pumps and 54 e-charging stations will be created through the Transport Department. He said that the department should submit a detailed report to him in this regard.
SUKHU also reviewed the construction works of six proposed green corridors in the state. He said that the present state government has planned Parwanu-Nalagarh-Una-Hamirpur-Samsarpur Terrace, Paunta-Nahan-Solan-Shimla, Parwanu-Solan-Shimla-Rampur-Losar, Mandi-Jogindernagar-Palampur-Dharamshala-Kangra-Pathankot and Kiratpur- Bilaspur-Mandi-Manali-Kelang-Jingjingbar Green Corridor is being constructed.
They also learned about the tender process for the installation and construction of power transformers on these green corridors. He said that diesel buses of Himachal Road Transport Corporation will be replaced with e-buses in a phased manner and tender process for procurement of 300 new e-buses will be started soon. He said that the state government is trying to save the corporation from losses.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is giving priority to the operation of e-vehicles to protect the environment and e-taxis will also be linked with government departments. He said that to provide self-employment opportunities to unemployed youth, e-taxis will be hired from them, which will be deployed in government departments. A website is being prepared for e-taxi registration, which will be launched soon.
