Una, November 10 - State Tax and Excise Department Una is conducting intensive inspection in the district during the ongoing festival season. Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner State Tax and Excise Una Vinod Singh Dogra said that during the months of September and October, 76 cases of tax evasion were detected by the inspection teams of the department while taking action under the Goods and Services Tax Act, due to which Rs 20 lakh was recovered. A fine of Rs 82 thousand 742 was collected. He told that among these cases, 13 cases were of tax evasion of gold and silver.

Apart from this, the department, while taking action under the Excise Act, detected 13 cases of illicit liquor in Una district in which 956.05 bulk liters of liquor was seized. He said that information about any kind of tax evasion and smuggling/sale of illegal liquor can be given on 01975-226088 and e-mail dcste.una@mailhptax.gov.in . He said that the identity of the complainant will be kept secret.
