Patiala, November 8: Lok Sabha member from Patiala Praneet Kaur condemned the decision to shift the Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University from Patiala to Lehra in Sangrur district, established on the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He has said that the state government should have taken the land for this university and developed it permanently in Patiala, but the government is not able to maintain the Punjabi University well. He said that during the regime of Captain Amarinder Singh, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University was established and the students of Patiala and its vicinity got benefit from it. Other people also got employment. Many people will be affected by the wrong decision of the government. Praneet Kaur also alleged that the government is walking on the path of false fame, not doing anything new in the field of education, just changing the name of smart schools to "schools of eminence".
